Assistive Device Rental

The short-term rental of various assistive devices (i.e. walkers, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.) can be arranged through Momiji’s Support Services office.  Fees for this service vary upon the type of assisted device rented. Emergency Response

In every tenant apartment there is an emergency pull cord in the bathroom and in each bedroom.  Once the cord is pulled, a Momiji employee will enter the tenant’s apartment to assess the situation and ensure the tenant’s safety.  If necessary, 9-1-1 will be called.  This emergency support system is available 24 hours/7 days a week.

In case of a Fire emergency, an alarm will ring and if known an announcement is made on the public intercom indicating the location of the fire.  Momiji maintains a list of tenants who are unable to use the stairs and will advise these tenants to remain in their apartments until a firefighter can rescue them.  Tenants wishing to be added to the list must register with Support Services at 416.261.6683 x 223.  Able-bodied tenants are to use the stairs to evacuate and not the elevators, however the decision to remain in their apartment or evacuate remains at the discretion of the tenant.


Philips Lifeline Medical Alert Services offers fast access to highly trained, caring Response Associates at the push of a button, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Momiji has been granted the ability to lease a Lifeline Communicator Unit to tenants for a monthly fee.  The fee includes Philips Lifeline’s monthly monitoring charge, the cost of the Communicator Unit, and a portable Help Button.
