Seniors’ Day Celebration 2018 @ Momiji Health Care Society

It’s time for our annual Seniors’ Day Celebration! Come connect with friends as we celebrate the years. Enjoy lunch entertainment and lots more. Please purchase a bento ticket from Scott (at reception) or Shivonne (in the 2nd floor Support Services office) by Friday, September 7.

Momiji Spring Festival: @ Momiji Health Care Society

(Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a presentation and some entertainment).

March 3rd is “Momo-no-Sekku” (also known as Girls’ Day) in Japan.  Originally, it was celebrated by families with young daughters for their children’s happiness and good health.  Here at Momiji, we will celebrate “Momo-no-Sekku” as the arrival of spring, wishing health and happiness to all children, as well as to our Momiji tenants and their families and friends from the community.

There will be a festive lunch, special entertainment guests, and much more!

Don’t miss this fun-filled seasonal special event!

Momiji Community Bazaar @ Momiji Health Care Society

This annual tradition is back! Enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine, including manju, sushi, chow mein and bento boxes. There will be plenty of home made pies, cookies and squares. Our dining room allows you to eat in or take out. There will also be plenty of items for sale including Collectibles, Giftware, Jewellery, Japanese Kitchen Wares, Books, a Garage Sale and much more.

Interested in volunteering? Volunteers are needed leading up to the day of the Bazaar, for sorting donations, for helping to make delicious Japanese cuisine and of course for set-up.

Proceeds from the Bazaar are used to support our programs and services. Hundreds of seniors benefit each year from the funds this event generates. For more information, contact Sheri-Lynn at 416-261-6683 x259 or bazaar@momiji.on.ca.

Caregiver Program: Ayuveda @ Momiji Health Care Society

Do you want to learn about self massage technics for your pain by using Ayuveda? Ayuveda is one of the oldest holistic healing systems: it was developed more than 3,000 years ago in India.

Facilitator: Ashwati Murali, Holistic Practitioner

The sessions will be conducted in English and Japanese translation is available.

Tour at Castleview Wychwood Towers (Long-Term Care Home) @ Castleview Wychwood Towers

The Castleview Wychwood Towers (Long-Term Care Facility) is a non-profit organization that accommodates our Japanese seniors with the friendly bilingual (Japanese and English) volunteers and staff. This tour will be conducted in both English and Japanese.

We will meet at the lobby at 2:00pm.

Tour of Momiji Centre @ Momiji Health Care Society

Inviting all seniors and their caregivers to explore Momiji facility and services. The tour will be conducted in English and Japanese.

Tour contents : Facility tour,  including  all public areas of the Momiji Centre and one of the apartments.  Information session about Momiji’s brief history, rental housing, application process, support service programs, meals & activity programs and Q&A.
