Notice to Momiji Visitors

On March 11, 2020
World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 (aka the Wuhan Novel Coronavirus) a Pandemic (Defined as the “worldwide spread” of a new disease)

At this time, Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) continues to advise that the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for the general population but a COVID-19 outbreak is not unexpected.
There is an increased risk of more severe outcomes for Canadians:

• aged 65 and over
• with compromised immune systems
• with underlying medical conditions

Risk to Canadians returning from abroad varies depending on where from, as well as the person’s age and health status. Increase risk is associated with those returning from China (mainland), Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Iran, Italy as well as those having been

• on cruise ships; or
• attending international conferences and other large gatherings in enclosed spaces

It is important for all recent travelers to:

• self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or difficulty breathing) for 14 days after returning to Canada
• avoid places where you cannot easily separate yourself from others if you become ill

If you are experiencing above-described symptoms please stay home and delay visiting tenants and staff in Momiji so as to minimize risk of inadvertent spread of COVID-19 and other flu-like-illnesses.
