“Tsunagu” means “to connect”. The film explores the family stories, traditions and values that Japanese Canadians pass along to their children and grandchildren. Everyone is welcome to join this film screening, complete with a Q & A with Director and Producer, Lucy Komori, after the screening. Admission $2, and includes light refreshments.

Organized by eventsMarion and held at Momiji, join us for “Tomorrow’s Stars: Today”, a violin, flute, and piano concert, starring violinist Sora Sato-Mound and flautist Karen Kobayashi. There will also be a small vendor market, refreshments, and door prizes.

This year, Japonica Live returns for two days—a whole weekend full of Japanese and Japanese Canadian culture at Momiji! On Saturday from 11am until 5pm, then on Sunday from 12 noon until 3pm.

Curated by Momiji volunteers, the Japonica collection boasts a wide array of high-quality second-hand Japanese items, including kimono, books, artwork, dishes and lacquerware. Even specialty items like ikebana vases & accessories, dolls & doll-making kits, and more!
👘 Learn more about Japanese and Japanese Canadian culture! In between shopping, take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn from our many knowledgeable volunteers. Whether you catch one of the scheduled demonstrations or simply strike up a conversation with a sales volunteer, you are sure to end the day with a newfound appreciation for Japanese and Japanese Canadian culture.
