Although we are unable to host our traditional Community Bazaar at the end of March, our Bazaar Food Committee has been working hard, creating a new food focused event that hopefully will raise some much needed funds for Momiji. Please share with your family and friends!
Japanese Canadian Legacy Monument
Update and Information Sessions
The Japanese Canadian Legacy Monument Database team led by University of Victoria’s Michael Abe is developing the list of names of Japanese Canadians living in coastal BC prior to the forced uprooting to be preserved on a legacy monument in Victoria, BC.
We invite JC members to look at the working site that contains a working list of the names of people forcibly uprooted from coastal BC to outside the 100 mile “protected” zone.
Please join us for an information session and demonstration of the working site and case file records. Learn more about the project and find out how you can check your family names and place of origin and submit corrections and additions.
