Are you noticing that the days are getting longer? As March nears, the festive spring season is also coming around the corner. March in Japan, “Momo-no-Sekku” (Girls’ Day) is celebrated. Originally, it was observed by families with young daughters wishing their happiness and good health. Here at Momiji, we will celebrate “Momo-no-Sekku” as the arrival of spring, hoping for good health and happiness to all children along with our Momiji tenants, their families and friends from the community.
There will be a festive lunch, special entertainment guests, door prizes and much more! Everyone is welcome! Don’t miss this fun-filled special event!
Purchase a lunch ticket ($15.00) from Shivonne by Fri. March 13!
In order to ensure the safety of our tenants, volunteers, shoppers and staff, Momiji Health Care Society has decided to postpone our Community Bazaar. Check back for further details. Thank you for your support!
This annual tradition is back! Enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine, including manju, sushi, chow mein and bento boxes. There will be plenty of home made pies, cookies and squares. Our dining room allows you to eat in or take out. There will also be plenty of items for sale including Collectibles, Giftware, Jewellery, Books, a Garage Sale and much more.
Interested in volunteering? Volunteers are needed leading up to the day of the Bazaar, for sorting donations, for helping to make delicious Japanese cuisine and of course for set-up.
Proceeds from the Bazaar are used to support our programs and services. Hundreds of seniors benefit each year from the funds this event generates. For more information, contact Sheri-Lynn at 416-261-6683 x259 or bazaar@momiji.on.ca.
Although we are unable to host our traditional Community Bazaar at the end of March, our Bazaar Food Committee has been working hard, creating a new food focused event that hopefully will raise some much needed funds for Momiji. Please share with your family and friends!
